Paid sessions

You can choose counselling or coaching based on what you need right now. Both are valid. Both can be paced. The difference is the focus — healing and processing versus growth and direction.

Counselling

Counselling focuses on healing, emotional regulation, and working with what has shaped you. It can include deeper processing of experiences and patterns, while staying grounded in safety and pacing.

Coaching

Coaching focuses on growth, practical direction, and values-aligned action. It builds on your strengths and supports follow-through without using urgency or shame as fuel.

What happens next

  1. 1.You receive a confirmation email with the session link and basic orientation.
  2. 2.You get a short intake that prioritizes the essentials first (name, email, what you want help with).
  3. 3.Your first session begins with pacing: we slow down, orient, and find what your system can hold today.

Common questions

  • What happens in the free 30-minute consultation?
    A low-pressure conversation. You share what you're navigating, ask questions about the work, and we decide together what (if anything) feels like a fit. There's no commitment beyond the call itself.
  • How do I prepare?
    You don't have to. If you'd like, jot down one or two things you'd want me to know — but coming with nothing to say is also fine.
  • What if I'm not sure I'm ready?
    That's a sign worth respecting. You can take a free guide first, or just sit with the question. Readiness isn't a requirement; the doorways stay open.
  • Are sessions online or in person?
    Online by default (encrypted video), with in-person sessions available in Vernon, BC on request.
  • What about cancellations?
    24 hours notice is appreciated; unexpected things happen and we'll find a respectful path forward.

What this work is and is not

Compassionate Rise provides counselling and coaching support focused on nervous-system safety, self-compassion, and practical change. This space is not emergency or crisis care, and it is not a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment.
